John A. Beck is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Biblical geography as well as human geography. This book contains rich charts, maps, and graphics that bring the setting and place to life. The Baker Book of Bible Charts, Maps, and Time Lines will serve as an excellent companion for group and individual study. I can personally attest to the thoroughness and attention to accuracy that the author puts into his works having studied under Dr. Beck during a trip to Israel. He has a passion for helping Biblical readers make the connection between text and place which will add a rich depth to the reader’s understanding of Scripture. The Holy Spirit often speaks geographically through the Biblical text and understanding the geographical connections will add new perspectives to the reader’s Biblical journey.

What a difference the spiral spine makes! All the pages lie perfectly flat. While there are some obvious Biblical errors in some charts and timelines, it is still a very colorful piece of research, clear, and easy to understand.

I couldn't live without this book now...it is necessary for the serious Bible reader, as it is accurate and alive, and is an excellent companion to the Holy Land for Christian Travellers: An Illustrated Guide to Israel, by the same author, John A. Beck..

I love all the colorful maps and charts! The size makes them much easier to follow than what might be in a bible. If you teach a class or have kids, the book is a nice size for others to follow along with you!

Lots of good information presented in an easy to read format. Coupled with some of the author's other books, a reader would have a great library of resources for Bible study and preparation for teaching.

I like the detailing of the maps, timelines, and charts, and all those biblical places, lands, etc!! I get lost leafing through its pages. Very informative! Recommend this book!

Useful--comparable in many ways to similar (and generally cheaper) books published by Holman and Nelson.
